Sir,

With reference to your letter 23051/1905 of the 15th instant respecting the duties on sugar imported into the Philippines, I am directed by the Marquess of Lansdowne to state that no further information on the subject of sugar legislation in those islands has been received since that contained in the memorandum of the Board of Trade of December last referred to in your letter, with the exception of a notification of the slight increase in the duties in March last.

A copy of your letter has been forwarded to the Board of Trade who have been informed that Lord Lansdowne proposes to send copies of the extract from the Journal des Fabricants de Sucre, enclosed in your letter, to His Majesty's Consular Officers at Manila and Iloilo with instructions to report as to ...
